Roman Reigns on his WWE future, “Street Fighter” role and Cody Rhodes

Roman Reigns admits he is in the closing phase of his career, but does not rule out the possibility of a full comeback as the face of the company if he stays in shape and continues to do his share of the work. He says there are still unresolved issues in his in-ring storylines — including the next few years with connections and logical gaps that deserve to be addressed.

According to Bleacher Report, in an interview with Complex’s Mark Elibert, Reigns admitted he may still have another main run left if he stays in shape, while also underscoring his detail-oriented side in narrating events. He explained he has a slightly obsessive drive to ensure symmetry and continuity in WWE storytelling, valuing the nuances that give weight to rivalries and narrative developments.

Reigns admits the new generation is approaching and will create new challenges, but recalls that being the face of WWE requires a combination of consistent performance and the capacity to carry the burden of a large company. He mentioned Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as a special and extremely rare case, while noting that John Cena and he himself took years to reach that level of credibility.

As the rival who, in his view, has come closest to this role, Reigns mentioned Cody Rhodes as the example who has shown he can carry the company’s flag. Outside the ring, Reigns is preparing for the role of Akuma in the upcoming “Street Fighter” film, where Rhodes plays Guile. He said he used elements of his WWE character to get into the anti-hero’s psychology: Akuma is not simply a villain, but seeks the most honorable battle and the strongest competition.

Reigns also stressed that his WWE legacy is not closed and that he aims to help raise new talent, increasing the value of those who are in the ring with him.
