Saudi Aramco CEO: Restoring global fuel supplies could take “years”
The chief executive of Saudi Aramco has warned that restoring global fuel supplies to their previous levels could take years, following the severe disruptions in energy markets caused by the US strikes on Iran.
Amin Nasser, the chief executive of the world’s largest oil company, said that the world is facing one of the most difficult energy supply situations in decades.
“The system is under great strain. Restoring emergency stocks and normal supply levels will require considerable time, up to two years, especially if key transport routes remain disrupted,” Nasser said.
According to him, the pressure on the oil market will worsen until the Strait of Hormuz is fully reopened and shipping through the region returns to normal.
