Serbia extends the fuel excise cut until October 11
Serbia’s caretaker government has extended the cut in excise duties on oil derivatives by another week, as Blic reports. The measure, introduced earlier, will remain in force until October 11, as the previous decision expires on Sunday, October 4.
According to the confirmation RTS received from the Ministry of Finance, the 25 percent excise cut remains in force for another seven days. The excise duty on leaded petrol will be 57.41 dinars per litre, on unleaded petrol 54 dinars per litre, and on diesel 55.53 dinars per litre, Blic reports.
The extension of the measure, as N1 also reports, comes at a time when the global oil crisis is putting pressure on fuel prices. In addition to the excise cut, other measures to protect the domestic market remain in force, including price caps, RTS reports.
This is the latest extension of a measure the government has renewed several times in recent months, with the aim of softening the impact of high energy prices on citizens and businesses.
