Shçepanoviq meets EU officials on the WB CEPS security project
Montenegro’s Police Administration director, Lazar Shçepanoviq, met with the leader of the European Union project “WB CEPS”, Filip Ganglof, as well as with the chief expert for the protection of public spaces, Tomislav Gulan, and project coordinator Sebastian Daure, as announced by the Police Administration.
According to the Police Administration’s announcement, the Montenegrin police “remain a reliable partner of international cooperation and collective security in the international intelligence community, with a primary focus on strengthening the capacities of competent bodies and institutions, in line with EU standards, in the fight against contemporary security challenges”. Montenegro has fulfilled all obligations undertaken in the first phase of the project.
In the second phase of the project — strengthening the protection of public spaces and critical infrastructure in the Western Balkans 2026–2029 — funded by the EU, targeted training and practical activities are planned: risk assessment, protection of public spaces, critical infrastructure resilience, crisis management and drones.
Shçepanoviq emphasised the importance of linking the project’s new phase with the WB3C Cyber Centre in Podgorica, for a more comprehensive response to contemporary challenges and hybrid threats.
The regional dimension of the project was also emphasised — the exchange of experiences and best practices among Western Balkan institutions.
