Suspected of stabbing a policeman, Prosecution opens investigation against a man from Kratova

The Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Kumanovo ordered an investigative procedure and proposed detention for a person reasonably suspected of committing the criminal offence of assaulting an official during the performance of security duties.

“The 40-year-old suspect from Kratova, on September 11, attacked an official during the performance of public security duties related to preventing a crime and caused serious bodily injuries to the police officer. When two police officers used force and opened the closed door of the room where the suspect was, he attacked them. He caused serious bodily injuries to one of the police officers with a knife — a stab wound and a cut,” the Prosecution says.

“Assessing the risk of flight and the possibility of a repeated offence, the public prosecutor submitted a proposal to the preliminary procedure judge to order detention for the suspect,” the Prosecution says.
