Suspected poisoning at the Korça kindergarten, food and water tests find no bacterial contamination! Parents demand clarification

Following the suspected poisoning of a group of children at kindergarten no. 2 in the city of Korça, the parents’ community has expressed concern about the situation.

As they accompanied their little ones to the kindergarten, parents and grandparents say they were frightened by what happened and are demanding institutional clarification, but also much more responsibility and increased inspections.

They say that during these days they have not been contacted by the kindergarten’s management to be given an explanation about the situation.

Meanwhile, on Monday morning, some of the parents tried to get an explanation at the kindergarten’s doors, where the management claimed the case is linked to a seasonal virus.

Meanwhile, it is learned that the ISHP Directorate has monitored the kindergarten and the hygienic-sanitary conditions are within standards.

Samples of the food and water have also been taken and bacteriological analyses carried out, which have not shown bacterial contamination. The AKU has also taken food samples and sent them to the ISUV, analyses which will determine the cause of the poisoning.
