Sweden: Social Democrat Magdalena Andersson again tasked with forming a government

STOCKHOLM, 2 October /ATSH-AFP/ – The Speaker of the Swedish parliament announced today that he has again entrusted the leader of the Social Democrats, Magdalena Andersson, with the mission of forming a government, almost three weeks after the parliamentary elections narrowly won by the left bloc.

“In view of the consultations I have held, I have decided to entrust Magdalena Andersson, chair of the Social Democratic Party, with the mission of resuming exploratory consultations,” Andreas Norlén declared during a press conference.

Andersson gave up on Monday her attempt to form a government, because of the lack of an agreement between the left parties and those of the centre.
