Julianne Moore to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Rome Film Festival
The Rome Film Festival (Rome Film Fest), which will be held from 13 to 25 October 2026 in its 21st edition, will present the Lifetime Achievement Award to Oscar-winning actress Julianne Moore, as The Hollywood Reporter reports.
The award will be presented to her by Jesse Eisenberg during the Rome screening of her new film “The Debut”, part of the festival’s Grand Public section. “The Debut” is an A24 musical comedy written, directed and produced by Eisenberg himself, who also stars in it, following its world premiere in Telluride. In the film, Moore plays a modest New Jersey housewife who lands a small role in a local theatre production directed by a domineering director, played by Paul Giamatti; the film is generating buzz for the awards season.
Moore’s career is one of the most acclaimed in contemporary cinema. She won the Oscar, the Golden Globe and the BAFTA for her role in “Still Alice” (2015), while in 2012 she received the Emmy Award for her portrayal of Sarah Palin in “Game Change”. Moore is also the only American actress to have won the top acting awards at all three major European festivals: Venice (“Far From Heaven”, 2002), Berlin (“The Hours”, 2003) and Cannes (“Maps to the Stars”, 2014).
Her filmography includes titles such as “Short Cuts”, “Boogie Nights”, “Magnolia”, “Far From Heaven”, “May December” and “The Room Next Door” — a body of work that makes the Rome honour a deserved recognition of a long career at the pinnacle of world cinema.
