Tenth person arrested today in northern Kosovo: Serb detained in Dren, weapons and ammunition seized in Shipovë
Police have arrested citizen S.V. (55) in the village of Dren near Leposavić on suspicion of illegal possession of weapons, as Serbian public broadcaster RTS reports. The detainee was taken to the police station in Leposavić, questioned in the presence of a lawyer and, on the prosecutor’s order, placed in detention for up to 48 hours.
According to RTS, the arrested man is linked to a building used as a stable, where three rifles and ammunition were found. On the prosecutor’s order, an investigation has been opened on suspicion of the criminal offense of unauthorized possession of weapons.
In a second case, in the village of Shipovë near Zubin Potok, police searched an abandoned house and found a Yugoslav-made AK-47 automatic rifle with six magazines and 157 rounds, as well as an M-48 hunting rifle with 186 rounds for long guns. No arrests have been made in this case yet, but the prosecutor has ordered an investigation into unauthorized weapons possession.
S.V. from Dren is, according to RTS, the tenth Serb arrested today in northern Kosovo. In the early morning hours, 9 people were arrested in Zubin Potok on suspicion of war crimes against the civilian population, in an operation by the Pristina Special Prosecution and police known as the “Intellectuals Group” case, codenamed “File 23” — they were also placed in 48-hour detention.
