Two bronze medals for young Serbian informaticians at the Balkan Olympiad in Sarajevo
Serbia’s junior informatics team has won two bronze medals at the Junior Balkan Olympiad in Informatics (JBOI), held from September 22 to 28, 2026 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, as Serbian public broadcaster RTS reports. The competition drew 55 contestants from 14 Balkan and invited countries.
The bronze medals were won by Filip Jandrić, a pupil of the “Veljko Petrović” Primary School in Begeč, and Danilo Atanasković, a pupil of the “Svetozar Marković” Gymnasium in Niš. Also on the team were Nikola Milloshević, a pupil of the Mathematical Gymnasium in Belgrade, and Nikola Vidaković, a pupil of the “Branko Radičević” Primary School in Belgrade.
The Serbian team was selected through a series of competitions organized by the Mathematical Society of Serbia, under the patronage of Serbia’s Ministry of Education. The team was led by Ognjen Teshić of the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Belgrade, who also authored one of the six algorithmic tasks the pupils solved; the deputy leader was Teodora Obradović of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at the University of Niš.
