The Ballets of Albania and Kosovo share the same stage for the first time

The troupes of the Ballet of Albania and the Ballet of Kosovo will share the same stage for the first time, as part of the 5th edition of the International Dance and Physical Theatre Festival (IDFT).

The Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Blendi Gonxhja, announced that this year’s edition will open with the work “Neighbours / from Motherland”, with choreography by Brigel Gjoka and Rauf “Rubberlegz” Yasit.

According to the minister, the work will be presented as a world premiere, treating through dance the themes of common roots and identity, while the union of the two ballet troupes on the same stage constitutes a special cultural moment.

The performance will take to the stage of the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet in Tirana on October 3 and 4, while on October 7 it will be presented at the National Theatre of Kosovo.

Minister Gonxhja described this cooperation as a historic cultural moment, through a work that brings common roots and identity to the stage.
