The House of Agriculture opens in Berane: a €1.6 million investment for the farmers of the north
The Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Vladimir Joković, today opened in Berane the House of Agriculture, an investment worth around €1.6 million, as Vijesti reports.
According to the Ministry’s statement, the House of Agriculture will serve the agricultural producers of Berane, but also of Andrijevica, Petnjica, Rožaje, Plav, Gusinje and other municipalities of northern Montenegro.
The Regional Office of the Paying Agency, the advisory services, the inspection bodies and the local agricultural service have been brought together in one place, enabling producers simpler and more efficient access to information, support and services.
“This is not only an administrative building, but the home of all agricultural producers. It belongs to the households of Berane, but also to the farmers of Andrijevica, Petnjica, Rožaje, Plav, Gusinje and of this whole region,” Joković said, adding that such projects are part of the wider investment cycle the Ministry is carrying out in the north, in cooperation with international partners, local self-governments and other institutions.
According to the minister, the Ministry of Agriculture’s total investments in the Municipality of Berane over the last four years, including completed projects and those under way, exceed €10 million. Joković also announced that, after Berane and Pljevlja, such facilities operate in Bijelo Polje and Podgorica, while by the end of next year construction is planned in Nikšić and the opening of a regional office in Bar.
