“The judiciary is ignoring parliament”: Çupi accuses SPAK of trying to paralyse the government
Analyst Frrok Çupi says the meeting of the National Security Council was necessary, even if forced.
In an interview for “Ora e Njëmbëdhjetë” on ABC News, Çupi said the judiciary is ignoring parliament.
Çupi added that SPAK is making attempts to paralyse the government.
“It was a necessary meeting, certainly a forced one. National Security Council meetings happen in emergency situations; they are not convened periodically. It happened because of a man who got it into his head to harm a person and the country. The prime minister bears responsibility for the country, while the head of SPAK does not bear this responsibility. There is only one side: the sovereign who elects parliament, and parliament elects the government. The other powers stem from parliament. The judiciary, however all-powerful it may be, cannot be compared with parliament, which it is not heeding. There is an opposition of SPAK and the GJKKO against the sovereign, against parliament which carries sovereignty. This is the emergency problem. There are attempts by SPAK to paralyse the government. SPAK is competing, it is shooting at the fortress of the state. These are aims to seize political power; they are in accord with the opposition, which seeks to take power by violence,” he stressed.
