“The Mountains Package is for the owners”: Rama in the US says Zvërnec will bring €4 billion

At a meeting with Albanians in Staten Island, New York, Prime Minister Rama spoke about the importance of the Mountains Package and about Zvërnec, a much-discussed project on which he confirms work continues while the environmental impact is being studied.

“The Mountains Package is made for all those who own property there, and no other investor will have access unless they are your partner and it is your wish to have them there. Whoever wants to have a partner is welcome. Turning the mountains into a source of prosperity is an important source for moving Albania forward. The goal is to take Albania from 12 million visitors to 20 million. Then the task belongs to the young people who will take over the baton and push it higher.

The goal is now to bring the high-income tourist to Albania. This goal is also held by the much-discussed project, famous but also infamous as the result of many lies, manipulations and politics: Zvërnec and Sazani. This project brings €4 billion into an economy that totals €27 billion. Extraordinary for Albania, but also delicate in environmental balance — and we are working hard to study the impact and to understand the real risks, not those produced on social networks by manipulators and charlatans.
