“They want me not to run in the elections,” Salianji accuses: Theater at the Constitutional Court, the decision has been made

“The Constitutional Court cannot rise to the constitutional level! I cannot do theater like so many others!”

This is the accusation of Ervin Salianji, who had his process at this court at 11:00. In a reaction on social media, Salianji says: “Decisions at the Constitutional Court are taken long before they formally convene, with the false solemnity of a procedure whose outcome everyone knows. Today’s decision has also been taken. I am communicating it to you in advance.”

“Judges of this Court have held this case hostage for almost two years, to delay the appeal to the Strasbourg Court, and today came the day that holds no more! I was not convicted as a criminal, but as an opponent of the regime, as a denouncer of the most powerful criminal groups and to keep me away from electoral battles. Today’s scheduled trial has the same purpose: to keep me away from the local elections,” Salianji writes in this reaction.

He says today should have been the day when the Constitution spoke louder than the power of the autocratic regime. But, unfortunately, someone is held hostage with corruption files, someone is blackmailed with recordings, someone faces files as a collaborator of the service and someone with links to criminal groups, like Xhafaj, the former Democratic MP further accuses. He declares he does not withdraw, as he believes the decision will be against him, and warns of the battle at the Strasbourg Court.
