Tourism summit in Brussels: Albania eyes more foreign investment as Rama meets key sector investors
Prime Minister Edi Rama is in Brussels today, where he is attending the Tourism Summit, a forum bringing together policymakers, investors and tourism industry representatives from various countries.
From Brussels, RTSH 24 journalist Denada Shkodrani reports that Prime Minister Rama’s participation is expected to focus on Albania’s potential in the tourism sector, investments and cooperation with business.
Rama is expected to hold a live address after 1:30 p.m., joined by the government officials responsible for tourism management, as well as representatives of state agencies that work directly with tourism businesses and other key economic actors.
The focus will be on Albania’s tourism potential, at a time when the country has recorded a significant rise in foreign visitors. According to data and assessments presented at the event, Albania has ranked in recent years among the region’s top-performing destinations, attracting a record number of tourists.
Particular attention has also been paid to Albania’s potential for further tourism development — not only because of its nature and coastline, but also its cultural wealth and heritage.
During his stay in Brussels, Prime Minister Rama is also expected to hold meetings with executives of major companies in tourism, hospitality and services, as investment and the expansion of hospitality capacity remain among the government’s priorities.
The Brussels summit focuses on the challenges and developments shaping the future of European tourism, including changing traveler expectations, digital innovation, investment and the sector’s sustainable development.
