Ulcinj: Police seize 20 kg of tobacco suspected of illegal trade

Some 20 kilograms of cut tobacco were seized by the border police of Ulcinj, as Vijesti reports. The check was carried out at the Vladimir–Ostros road junction, where a VW Golf with Ulcinj plates driven by S.Đ. from Ulcinj was stopped.

During the search of the luggage, according to Vijesti, two nylon bags were found containing 40 transparent bags of cut tobacco, 0.5 kilograms each — a total of 20 kilograms. The person had no documentation on the origin of the goods, whose circulation is restricted and controlled.

The state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecution Office in Ulcinj was notified of the case and said that the actions of S.Đ. contain elements of the criminal offence of “unauthorized trade”, Vijesti reports.

The tobacco was temporarily seized, while the police will file a criminal complaint in regular proceedings against the suspect.
