Veliaj rewards firefighters after battle with flames, decision awaits municipal council approval

Tirana’s firefighters will be financially rewarded for their efforts in battling the fire situation.

The initiative comes from Tirana mayor Erion Veliaj, and the draft decision will go before the Municipal Council for approval.

The reward is a recognition of the crews who worked on the ground fighting the flames during a period of intensive operations, high risk, and sustained readiness.

Firefighters have been on the front line of interventions, working to extinguish fires and protect residents, homes, and property.

Under Mayor Veliaj’s leadership, the Municipality of Tirana has previously awarded bonuses to firefighters following emergency situations.
