Vesna Medenica taken to KCCG emergency ward after fall during walk at Spuž prison
The former president of the Supreme Court of Montenegro, Vesna Medenica, has been taken to the Emergency Block of the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG) after falling during a walk in the yard of the Investigative Prison in Spuž, where, according to unofficial information from the newspaper Pobjeda, she suffered a head injury.
The incident was confirmed to Pobjeda by Medenica’s lawyer, Zdravko Begović, who said his client had an accident in the Investigative Prison and that doctors will determine after examination whether the injuries are minor or serious.
As Vijesti and Dan report, Medenica is in detention after the High Court in Podgorica sentenced her in the first instance to ten years in prison. She was found guilty in two cases of unlawful influence, while she was acquitted of the charge of forming a criminal organization.
Detention was ordered against her on February 28, after the State Special Prosecutor’s appeal over flight risk was accepted.
