Vučić Heads to the U.S. Ahead of His Final UN Address as Serbia’s President

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić is heading to the United States, where he will take part in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, his office announced on Monday. Vučić is expected to address participants on Wednesday, September 23.

During his stay in New York, he will hold bilateral meetings with numerous world leaders and representatives of the international community, the office said. According to his statements, the main topics will be Kosovo and Metohija, energy security and the current geopolitical situation, while his goal will be “protecting Serbia’s interests”.

The UN address will be Vučić’s last as president in this international forum, as he has announced he will resign as president on September 27 to campaign as an ordinary citizen for the early parliamentary elections set for October 25.
