“We must defend our identity as a nation” — Balla after the Hague ruling: “This is not justice”

The head of the Socialist Party’s parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, has reacted after the decision of the Special Court in The Hague regarding the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army.

Through a post on social media, Balla called the decision unjust, stressing that the history and contribution of the KLA to the liberation of Kosovo cannot be undone by any court decision.

“This decision today is not justice. The glorious history of the KLA cannot be undone like this. Injustice!”, Balla said.

According to him, Albanians must stand in support of the KLA and defend the values of the war for freedom. Balla also called for pursuing all legal and lawful avenues to oppose the decision.

“Albanians must defend the KLA. We must defend freedom and the liberators from this unjust decision. We must find all legal avenues to undo this decision, because we must at all costs defend our identity as a nation,” he declared.

Balla’s reaction comes after the announcement of the decision by the Special Court in The Hague, a case that has sparked numerous reactions in Kosovo, Albania and the Albanian-speaking world.
