“With Rama, Albania at the Highest Peak of Its History,” Balla: Institutional Transformation Has Won EU and U.S. Praise
After Prime Minister Edi Rama’s address to the UN General Assembly, where he presented the “Digital Mirror” project and called for an international agreement on artificial intelligence, Socialist Party parliamentary group leader Taulant Balla reacted on social media.
Balla, who is part of the Albanian delegation in New York, posted a photo with Prime Minister Rama, accompanied by a political message on Albania’s transformation and the country’s European path.
In his reaction, Balla writes that “With Edi Rama, Albania has climbed to the highest peak in the history of the Albanian state. Today Albania is no longer that of the past. The transformation of institutions, the strengthening of the rule of law and the fight against corruption are processes that have won growing attention and appreciation from our strategic partners, the European Union and the United States.”
He added that despite this new reality, political and media opposition continues, but in his view the fight against corruption cannot be waged with rhetoric or symbolic acts, but only through institutions.
“Faced with this new reality, the political and media noise continues and the lost hopes of chronic losers return. But the fight against corruption is not waged with rhetoric, insults or eggs, but through institutions and a system being built precisely to guarantee more transparency, accountability and justice. Where everyone has their civil, criminal, moral responsibility. That’s it!”
Balla stressed that propaganda and political attacks cannot stop Albania’s European integration process.
“The time of propaganda and political mud cannot stop our European path, which has already entered a new phase.”
