Young man threatened and stalked on social media — police hand case over to Tirana Prosecutor’s Office, investigation launched

The State Police have referred procedural materials to the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office following a complaint filed by a 34-year-old man, who stated that he received a threatening message on his social media account.

According to police, the message is suspected to have been sent from a fake account. The relevant structures are continuing investigations to identify the author and fully clarify the circumstances of the case.

The materials were referred for the criminal offenses of “Computer forgery,” “Stalking,” and “Threat,” provided for in articles 186/a, 121/a, and 84 of the Criminal Code.

The investigation is proceeding under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office, with the aim of identifying the person responsible.

“The State Police declare that they are committed to guaranteeing the security of citizens and responding to every form of threat or intimidation,” the statement said.

“The structures of the State Police have referred the procedural materials to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Tirana First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction, following the complaint of citizen O. S., 34, residing in Tirana, who stated that he received a message with threatening content on his social media account.

The message is suspected to have been sent from a fake account. As part of the investigative actions, work is underway to identify the author and fully document the circumstances of the case.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office for the criminal offenses of ‘Computer forgery,’ ‘Stalking,’ and ‘Threat,’ provided for in articles 186/a, 121/a, and 84 of the Criminal Code.

The investigation continues under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office, with the aim of fully clarifying the circumstances of the case and identifying the person responsible.
