41-year-old who changed his name with forged document declared wanted; two civil registry employees suspended
The Economic and Financial Crime Investigation Sector, under the direction of the Prosecution, has finalized the operation codenamed “Identiteti” (Identity), in which the security measure “suspension from exercising a public duty or service” was executed against two people suspected of the criminal offense of “abuse of office.”
As part of the operation, the security measure was executed against O. O., 44, a Tirana resident employed at an administrative unit in Tirana, and A. K., 30, a Tirana resident working as an IT specialist at the General Directorate of Civil Status.
According to investigators, a citizen with the initials D. I. is suspected of applying to change his name using a forged identification document. O. O. and A. K. are suspected of carrying out the subsequent procedures for this application without performing the relevant verifications of the submitted documentation. The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecution for further action.
Meanwhile, D. I., alias I. K., alias I. A., 41, a Tirana resident, has been declared wanted after the Court imposed the security measure “arrest in prison” against him for the criminal offense of “forgery of documents.” Police say work is underway to apprehend him.
