EPS Completes Assembly of Second Rotary Excavator for ‘Radljevo’ — Ready for Transport on Oct. 15
The assembly of the second rotary excavator for the Kolubara surface mine “Radljevo” has been completed; system verifications are being carried out and it is expected to be ready for transport to the work site on Oct. 15, the director of Serbia’s power utility Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS), Dušan Živković, said today.
Speaking at the assembly site in Tamnava, Živković stressed that it is “key” that the works finish within the deadline and that contractors and subcontractors deliver the documentation to “Kolubara” on time for the excavator’s transport.
“It is also important to form the crew for that excavator and secure experienced operators, because it is a new and imposing mining machine of great value,” Živković emphasized, announcing that crew training will begin soon.
After the Tamnava site, EPS, RB “Kolubara” and Ministry of Mining and Energy representatives took part at the Baroševac assembly site in preparations for transporting the self-propelled conveyor/truck with a capacity of 4,800 cubic meters per hour for the First BTO System of Field “E”.
The assembly of that conveyor began in August last year and is part of new equipment for “Field E”, to increase surface stripping and coal production. The Ministry of Mining and Energy stressed that the “coal production challenges” of RB “Kolubara” since the beginning of this year “have been fully overcome”, that production volume has increased significantly and that the planned result has thus been achieved.
