Fier Road Police Crackdown: 7 Prosecuted and Hundreds of Fines for Traffic Code Violations

Road Police structures in the Fier region continue their work to implement stepped-up security measures. Through intensive monitoring with smart devices on main road axes and at entry–exit points, authorities aim to prevent road accidents and manage traffic efficiently.

Over the past week, within organized controls with inspection groups on urban, interurban and local roads, numerous violations of Road Code provisions were identified and punished. As a result of this operation, 7 citizens were criminally proceeded against for various criminal offenses in the field of road traffic.

Criminal balance and measures taken

According to the official announcement of the police authorities, of the total persons proceeded against, “2 drivers were arrested in flagrante for violations of traffic rules (road accidents).”

Meanwhile, 5 other citizens were proceeded against in a state of freedom for driving without a driving license.

Besides criminal proceedings, the uninterrupted controls generated a high number of administrative measures for violations posing potential risk to road users’ lives. Particular focus was on speed above permitted limits and dangerous maneuvers.

Summary table of administrative measures imposed during the week:

694 measures for speeding (on interurban roads and on the A2 highway);

91 measures for other violations of traffic rules (potential source of accidents);

43 measures for not using the seatbelt;

36 measures for wrong overtaking;

7 measures for dangerous maneuvers;

5 measures for using a cell phone while driving;

5 measures for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Within the same preventive controls, authorities also took measures against vehicles circulating in violation of the law, stressing that “according to data, 5 motor vehicles were seized that were circulating without proper documentation and plates.”

“The Fier Road Police appeals once again for strict respect of traffic rules, as an important contribution to increasing road safety, protecting the life and health of all road users, and guaranteeing safe, free and unobstructed traffic,” the announcement says.

Authorities announce that monitoring with smart devices will continue without interruption across the entire territory, aiming to discipline traffic and punish every violation that endangers citizens’ lives.
