“A painful reality” — Socialist MP Iris Luarasi stands by Egla Ceno after threatening message

After actress Egla Ceno went public saying she had received a threatening message and reported the case to police, following her participation in the anti-government protest, Socialist MP Iris Luarasi reacted.

In a strong public statement, Luarasi expressed full solidarity with Ceno, calling the rape threat an unacceptable act of violence that cannot be justified under the guise of political debate.

Luarasi, who also shared her own personal experiences with similar threats on social media, stressed that the fear caused by such a message is a painful reality affecting the safety of the individual and the family.

She noted that blind hatred turns women into objects and serious threats into a form of expressing opinion, an approach that she said risks normalizing violence in society.
