Activist: We welcome disappointed democrats in the square, not Sali Berisha and Klevis Balliu

Civic protest activist Ilir Xhemalaj said that all disappointed democrats are welcome on the boulevard, but Sali Berisha and Democratic Party (DP) MPs are not welcome.

Speaking via a live link-up on Andrea Danglli’s “Off the Record” programme on A2 CNN, Xhemalaj described both Socialist and Democrat MPs as captured.

“We are not inviting Sali Berisha to the square, but the opposition forces. All those opposition supporters disappointed by the DP and by the SP. We want all these people to come to the square, free, not headed by a party or a chairman. Come to the square as opposition supporters, and as opposition supporters let us try to topple the Rama government. The DP cannot be represented by the MPs it has; it has a broad base. These are the people we want. We are not asking Klevis Balliu to come to the protest. We want all those disappointed democrats to come out into the square, not the MPs. The MPs, as we know very well, whether from the SP or the DP, are captured,” Xhemalaj said.

It is recalled that DP leader Sali Berisha has called a protest for October 8, which comes at a time when the civic protest today entered its 128th day.
