“Albania in a new phase of tourism”, Ibrahimaj: Focus on experiences, technology and services
At the first edition of the “Future Hospitality Forum 2026”, the focus was placed on the further development of Albanian tourism through investment, technology and new experiences.
The Minister of Economy and Innovation, Delina Ibrahimaj, stressed Albania’s advantage as a compact destination and the potential to extend tourists’ stays.
She said that the next phase of tourism should not focus only on increasing accommodation capacity, but also on the quality of services and the creation of experiences. According to her, tourism currently supports around 209 families in Albania.
“Albania has an advantage because within two hours you can move from the north to the south. The opportunity is to turn it into an experience. The next phase of Albanian tourism is not only about building more rooms, but about experiences, technology and services. It is about creating a destination, so that tourists say they will stay longer. Today’s tourism supports around 209 families in Albania. Our ambition is not only for more destinations, but for more,” Ibrahimaj said.
