VIDEO / “Balluku stripped you in Fier and left you with half a mandate”, journalist clashes with Bardhi live on air
The debate over the SPAK investigations and the opposition’s accusations was accompanied last night by a verbal clash between journalist Klodiana Lala and Democratic Party MP Gazment Bardhi in the News24 studio.
During the discussion, Lala linked the political clash between Bardhi and Belinda Balluku to the result of last year’s elections in the Fier region, where the Democratic MP led the DP campaign.
“You are in a clash with Belinda Balluku, because she stripped you in Fier, she left you with half a mandate,” the journalist told Bardhi.
With this metaphor, Lala was referring to the DP’s result in Fier, where the Democrats won four mandates in the last elections. According to the journalist’s argument, the electoral result in Fier may have influenced the political clash between Bardhi and Balluku.
Bardhi responded with a personal comment aimed at the journalist: “No one can strip me, but someone could strip you.”
This intervention escalated the language of the clash, and while Bardhi continued with personal-level accusations against the journalist, Lala made another strong statement. “I looked for you for 24 hours in Fier and could not find you,” the journalist declared, reinforcing the idea of the weak campaign Bardhi had run in Fier.
In the last elections, the DP secured four mandates in the Fier region, considered a historic negative result in that region, while Bardhi was the political leader of the Democrats’ campaign.
