Analyst: Leaking Excerpts From the “Agasi” File Was Wrong — The Case Has Been Romanticized, Hyseni Found Guilty in the Court of Public Opinion
Pedagogue Arsejda Gjyli said on the “3D” program on RTSH1 that leaking excerpts from the “Agasi” file was wrong and that the case has been romanticized in public discourse, shifting attention away from the real issue.
According to her, the political and media handling of the case has inflated the situation, declaring the woman guilty in public opinion.
Gjyli further explained that the current legal conditions show that a security measure — not a guilty verdict — has been imposed on the head of one of Albania’s intelligence institutions.
“What I wanted to say is that the way it has been handled politically, the case has been inflated, the lady has been declared guilty in public opinion. The legal conditions we are in now are that a security measure, not a guilty verdict, has been issued against the head of one of Albania’s intelligence institutions,” Gjyli emphasized.

The pedagogue stressed that the real issue concerns a breach of national security, if classified information leaked from the relevant institution, and that focusing on other elements has pulled the public debate away from the essence of the case.
“Leaking these official documents shows and romanticizes; it is very wrong because you shift the discourse from the real issue, which is a matter of extremely high importance — the breach of national security, because if classified internal information leaked from this institution it means we have a violation of a country’s national security, and we have shifted this public discourse in recent days. Here I think there is the immaturity of a very high legislative body, the Special Court — we have shifted it into a romantic discourse, we have romanticized the case,” Gjyli said.
