Angel Reese returned to WNBA play after winning the gold medal with Team USA at the 2026 World Cup and led Atlanta Dream to a dominant 103-59 victory over Connecticut Sun, finishing with 30 points and 10 rebounds.

According to Bleacher Report, Reese scored 30 points on 11-of-14 shooting, adding 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks. It was her 30th double-double of the season, a WNBA record. Before this game she was averaging a career-high 16.1 points per game, while on August 22 she had another standout performance against Phoenix Mercury with 31 points, 14 rebounds and 4 steals.

Reese was the only Dream player to score more than 10 points; four teammates — Allisha Gray, Rhyne Howard, Madina Okot and Te-Hina Paopao — scored 10 points each. The game was decided in the second half: Atlanta led by 10 at halftime, but the dominance grew in the third quarter, which Dream won 31-11, and the game was never in doubt after that.

Atlanta is 27-14 and sits fourth in the standings, just half a game behind the third-placed Las Vegas Aces; if Reese keeps up these performances, Dream could climb to third and head into the playoffs with the advantage.
