Are they together? Raye speaks about her relationship with Michael B. Jordan

British singer Raye has denied rumours of a romantic relationship with actor Michael B. Jordan, clarifying that between them there is only friendship and a joint project.

“We’re just friends who like theme parks,” the 28-year-old singer told Extra, as she walked the red carpet of the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.

Her statement comes about a month after Raye and the 39-year-old actor were photographed together at Six Flags Magic Mountain, in California, on August 7, immediately fuelling speculation that a romance might have begun between them.

Raye also clarified that she and the “Sinners” actor are working together on a project, but she cannot give many details.

“Technically I’m not allowed to talk about it, because I could get into trouble,” she said.

In another interview for ET, the singer described Jordan as “just a wonderful friend”.

“We’re working on some things, which is very nice,” she said.

Asked whether she is open to love, Raye said she looks forward to that part of her life coming, but she is not desperately seeking it.

“I’m very excited, but I’m also not forcing that chapter,” the singer said.

“It just has to find you naturally. They say love finds you when you stop looking,” she added.

Raye said that for the moment she is focused on work and tries to rest whenever she has the chance.

The British singer had earlier made an unusual statement about her love life. During an interview on the “Today” show on August 20, she said she was “on strike” and would not release a new album until she fell in love.

“I’ve written so many songs. I’ve been a songwriter for a very long time and my point of view has mostly been: ‘This didn’t work’, ‘This is awful’, ‘I’m alone’, my ex from that time or my ex from another time. I’m so tired of that point of view,” she said.
