Berisha in Parliament: Vučić and His Servant Edi Rama Are Responsible for What Happened in The Hague
Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha said Aleksandar Vučić and Edi Rama are responsible for the Hague conviction of the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army.
“If there is anyone most directly responsible for what happened, it is Aleksandar Vučić and his servant Edi Rama,” Berisha said during his speech in Parliament, A2 CNN reports.
“Where is he now, have you seen him open his mouth, tell me what did he say? Tell me what word did he utter?
Or his minister? They have vanished. They bring this one, who has immunity to steal day and night and says thank you, let me steal more. This one I have here. He mobilizes the entire family, gives them companies.”
Former Kosovo president Hashim Thaçi was found guilty of war crimes on Wednesday by the Kosovo Specialist Chambers. Thaçi, 58, was sentenced to 25 years in prison for crimes including murder, torture and unlawful detention, committed when he was a senior commander of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) between April 1998 and June 20, 1999, when Kosovo was fighting to break away from Serbia.
In its ruling, the court said Thaçi was found guilty of the murder of 96 political opponents and persons considered collaborators of the Serbian security forces, carried out by KLA members during the conflict.
On similar charges, Jakup Krasniqi was also sentenced to 25 years in prison. Kadri Veseli received 18 years while Rexhep Selimi was sentenced to 13 years.
