Osmani in Vienna on the centenary of the first Pan-European Congress
Kosovo’s president, Vjosa Osmani, took part in Vienna in the historic anniversary, a century after the first Pan-European Congress, as Klan Kosova reports. As winner of the European “Coudenhove-Kalergi” Prize for 2024, she joined leaders, diplomats and representatives of civil society from across Europe.
According to Klan Kosova, the participants discussed the theme “A strong Europe”, at an event that commemorates the tradition of the Pan-European movement and the challenges of the continent today.
The “Coudenhove-Kalergi” Prize was also awarded around two decades ago to the historic president Ibrahim Rugova, which links Osmani’s participation with a long tradition of Kosovo’s engagement for European integration.
The president’s presence in Vienna comes at a moment when Kosovo aims to draw closer to the European Union, and her message, as conveyed by Klan Kosova, was that of a strong and united Europe.
