Hamza: I expect the issue of the Law on the Specialist Chambers to be closed at the next meeting with Kurti
The chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Bedri Hamza, has said he expects the issue of amending the law of the Specialist Chambers to be definitively closed at the next meeting with Prime Minister Albin Kurti, as Klan Kosova reports. The statement comes a day after the 2 October meeting between the two leaders, which ended without an agreement.
“You have seen that several documents have also been approved in the government, but I expect this issue to be closed at the next meeting. You know that for us the priority is the first reading and then to enter the process of electing the president, if we agree,” Hamza told Klan Kosova.
According to Klan Kosova, the PDK leader left open the possibility of frequent meetings with the prime minister. “It is possible that we meet at any time [with Kurti]. The dynamics are so fast and time is so short that we could even meet every day,” he added.
Meanwhile, the government approved the relevant documents during the night, giving its opinion on the PDK’s initiative. For the Democrats, the priority remains passing the draft law in first reading in the Assembly, and then entering the procedure for electing the president, if the parties reach an agreement.
