Burkina Faso takes the field with its U23 team, Argentina wins in a rout

In the absence of Messi, whose farewell match for the national team against Benin is scheduled for the night between Tuesday, 6 October, and Wednesday, 7 October, Argentina’s team under Scaloni easily beat Burkina Faso’s U-23 side 7-0.

The African team arrived for this prestigious match with only one player from the senior national team, after the others had decided not to travel because of logistical problems and unpaid payments.

The African federation made efforts to save the situation and “convinced” the U-23 team to make the trip, cancelling a friendly against Mali that had been scheduled only a few hours later.

The team arrived in Buenos Aires only a few hours before the match against the Argentines. Lautaro Martínez, Nico Paz and Mastantuono were among the scorers in this encounter; the remaining goals were scored by Prestianni, Álvarez and Simeone, alongside an own goal by Diallo.
