The Ronaldo case, Bruno Fernandes intervenes: I have spoken to him, Portugal must stay united

Ahead of the match against Norway, Portugal’s Bruno Fernandes gave his view on the CR7 situation. “I spoke to him and what I told him is what I repeat here: the most important thing is that, whatever happens, Cristiano Ronaldo will never stop being the greatest symbol of our national team, of our football and of our country. For what he has done not only in Portugal, but throughout the world.”

And again: “He has a place not only among the greatest of all time, but also in the hearts of all Portuguese, and the most important thing is that we stop creating divisions; there is no division in the national team. It is one and will remain so, whatever criticism may come from outside. The important thing is that this ends well for both sides.”
