Caitlin Clark, the Indiana Fever star and three-time WNBA All-Star, praised Nike’s design team for her first signature shoes. During a media conference she said she sees the Caitlin 1 model as one of the most attractive on the market and described it as the best shoe she has ever played in, even saying it surpasses the Kobe models she had used before.

As reported by Bleacher Report, Nike has published details of the Caitlin 1 design process; Alex Zerzan, product line manager for Nike Basketball, explained that one of the main goals was to build the shoe in a way that highlights Clark’s movements on the perimeter and fits her style of play.

The shoes go on sale October 1, but Clark has worn them throughout the WNBA season and at the FIBA Women’s World Cup. Her performance during the season has served as a natural promotion for the model: Clark has a career average of 22.5 points and 8.4 assists over 36 games, while Indiana secured a playoff spot for the third straight time.
