DP Leadership Wraps Up Meeting: Details and Proposals Emerge

The Democratic Party’s leadership and its secretariat have concluded their meeting, where a series of decisions were taken on reorganizing the party and its political steps in Parliament.

Under the decisions taken, leadership representatives will be dispatched immediately to the DP’s branches, as part of the process of renewal and organization of structures across the country.

It was also decided that candidates for the upcoming local elections will be selected within the first two weeks of October.

Following the parliamentary group’s decision, the leadership also decided to officially deposit in Parliament the draft on electoral reform with 100 municipalities, prepared by Democratic Party experts.

During the meeting, the opposition’s next political steps were also discussed. Sources cited by journalist Ardit Hoxha report that the organization of a national protest was discussed, but no date or venue has yet been set.

Also under discussion was the idea of tabling a motion of no confidence against Prime Minister Edi Rama. However, according to the same sources, no decision has yet been taken on this initiative by the Democratic Party leadership.
