Esat Bushati, former Vllaznia and Albania national team player, dies at 97

A well-known name of Albanian football has passed away. Esat Bushati, former player of Vllaznia, Partizani and the Albanian national team, has died at the age of 97. The Shkodër club, in an announcement, expressed condolences to the family and announced that tributes in his honor will be held on Friday, from 10:00 to 12:00, in the lobby of the “Loro Boriçi” stadium.

“KF Vllaznia expresses its condolences on the passing at the age of 97 of the club’s former footballer Esat Bushati, who made a great contribution to the red-and-blue jersey in the ’40s–’60s. Besides his career with Vllaznia, he also played successfully for Partizani and the Albanian national team, being one of the best defenders of those years. Tributes in his honor will be held on Friday, from 10:00 to 12:00, in the lobby of the “Loro Boriçi” stadium. May your memory be eternal, Esat Bushati!” the Shkodër club’s announcement reads.
