Fier police seize “Benz” flagged by Interpol Manchester; automatic rifle found in “No Guns 5” raid

A luxury “Benz” has been seized by Fier police after verification checks showed the vehicle was listed as wanted by Interpol Manchester.

The car was stopped for inspection by Fier officers as part of an operation verifying luxury vehicles and the source of income used to purchase them. Checks revealed the vehicle was under an international wanted notice issued by Interpol Manchester.

A 26-year-old, E. D., from Mallakastër, who was using the vehicle, was processed in a state of freedom for the criminal offense of “motor vehicle trafficking.”

In a separate operation in Fier, police cracked a case of unlicensed firearms possession.

In the operation codenamed “No Guns 5,” 66-year-old R. M., a Fier resident suspected of keeping a firearm at home, was arrested.

A search of his residence found and seized an automatic-type firearm along with a magazine holding 29 rounds.

The case materials have been referred to the Fier Prosecutor’s Office for further action.
