Gunshots in Tirana: police give details — name of the injured man revealed

Tirana police have issued an official statement regarding the wounding recorded a few hours earlier in the Zogu i Zi area of Tirana.

According to the police report, the injured man is Kosovo citizen Gjenk Karabeg, around 33 years old; the wounding came as a result of trivial motives and occurred on “Egnatia” street.

The full police statement:

“On 25.09.2026, at around 14:35, Kosovo citizen Gj. K., around 33 years old, presented himself at the Trauma Hospital for medical assistance, suspected of having been wounded by firearm in the leg.

“Preliminarily, from the investigations, the incident occurred after a conflict on ‘Egnatia’ street, over trivial motives.

“Police services, upon receiving the notification, immediately went to the scene and are carrying out the first investigative actions to identify and apprehend the suspected perpetrator.

“The investigative group is continuing its work to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident and its legal documentation.”
