On October 3, Munich diaspora rallies for the liberators: “Freedom has a name — not in my name!”
The Albanian diaspora in Germany will take to the streets again in support of the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army. As Klan Kosova reports, the civic platform “Freedom Has a Name” announced that the rally will be held on October 3 in Munich, starting at 5:30 p.m. “On October 3, from 5:30 p.m. in MUNICH, Germany, the Albanian diaspora protests under the motto: NOT IN MY NAME,” the platform’s announcement said.
The protest is organized against the guilty verdict of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague, announced on September 16, under which Hashim Thaçi and Jakup Krasniqi were each sentenced to 25 years in prison, Kadri Veseli to 18 years and Rexhep Selimi to 13 years — 81 years of imprisonment in total.
According to Telegrafi’s reporting, the Munich protest is part of a wave of diaspora Albanian rallies following the Hague decision, with gatherings held or announced also in Zurich, Cologne, Vienna, as well as in the U.S. and Canada. A week ago, Albanians also protested in Munich, after rallies in The Hague, Prishtina and Zurich.
In Prishtina, the “Freedom Has a Name” platform has also called the big “NOT IN MY NAME” march on October 1 at 4:00 p.m., as well as a protest on October 10 in Brussels together with the diaspora.
