A 30-year-old has been handcuffed by police in Durrës. His arrest came after he stole a vehicle. According to the announcement, the perpetrator tried to flee from the police and collided with 4 other cars. He turned out to be a person wanted for the criminal offense of “theft,” since a day earlier he had stolen in Tepelenë the vehicle with which he tried to escape the police. After this incident, his charges increased. He is also accused of the criminal offenses “disobeying the order of a public order employee,” “violating road traffic rules” and “driving a vehicle in an irregular manner.”

“Durrës/ Had stolen a vehicle and, to escape the police, hit 4 vehicles, endangering the lives of citizens and of the employees of the Plazh Police Station, the 30-year-old is neutralized and handcuffed. The driver of the vehicle, as soon as he noticed the presence of the police, increased speed and tried to get away from the services, which signaled him to stop. While fleeing, the driver crashed into 4 vehicles, endangering the lives of citizens and police employees, and then abandoned the vehicle, trying to run away on foot, but was neutralized by police services.

Preliminary verifications showed that the detained person, citizen M. K., 30 years old, was a person wanted for the criminal offense of “theft,” since a day earlier he had stolen in Tepelenë the vehicle with which he tried to escape the police. At the conclusion of the first investigative actions carried out by the Investigation Specialists, the 30-year-old was arrested in flagrante for the criminal offenses “theft,” “disobeying the order of a public order employee,” “violating road traffic rules” and “driving a vehicle in an irregular manner.” The materials were passed to the Prosecution for further actions,” the police announced.
