How Did He Win Selena Gomez’s Heart? Benny Blanco Reveals the “Secret”

Benny Blanco has revealed that he didn’t use any “magic” to win Selena Gomez’s heart, but a much simpler approach.

The 38-year-old producer said on the “Today” show that the key to their relationship is kindness and open communication.

“I didn’t use any black magic or anything like that. I just behaved politely,” Blanco said.

He added that it is important to understand your partner and be able to speak openly about everything.

“We are very well and I feel very lucky. I think, again, the fact that I wasn’t an idiot and behaved politely with people made her enter my orbit,” he said.

Blanco has previously revealed that, before meeting Gomez, he had created a list with the help of a therapist to define what he was looking for in an ideal partner. Among the main criteria were that she be kind, caring and generally happy.

The couple began their relationship in 2023, got engaged in December 2024 and married in September 2025 in Santa Barbara, California.

Blanco also recounted that the wedding was realized according to Gomez’s dream, who since childhood had imagined a non-traditional ceremony.
