Saudi coalition says it intercepted three Houthi ballistic missiles over Saudi Arabia

The Saudi-led coalition fighting the Houthis in Yemen said it intercepted and destroyed three ballistic missiles targeting Saudi Arabia, as Al Jazeera reports.

According to the coalition, the missiles were moving toward the southern city of Khamis Mushait. Earlier on Thursday, the coalition had announced it had intercepted and destroyed four drones and two ballistic missiles in the same area.

The attacks come in a period of escalation of the clashes between the Iran-backed Houthis and the Saudi coalition, with frequent missile and drone attacks on Saudi cities.
