Hoxha meets his German counterpart: Appreciation for Berlin’s support for EU membership

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, met Germany’s Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs, Johann Wadephul, on the sidelines of the Berlin Process ministerial meeting, held in Przno, Montenegro.

The two ministers had a substantive exchange, focusing on Albania’s European path.

“I expressed our deep appreciation for Germany’s clear, consistent and continuous support for the EU enlargement process and for Albania’s membership in the European Union,” Minister Hoxha wrote on the social network X after the meeting.

Hoxha underlines that “Germany’s strong commitment to a credible and merit-based enlargement process constitutes an important contribution to maintaining momentum and advancing the European perspective of the Western Balkans.”

According to Hoxha, Albania’s ambitious reform agenda and the upcoming priorities of the accession negotiations remain the key to our European future.

“We remain fully committed to fulfilling our commitments and advancing on the basis of merit, while working closely with Germany and our European partners towards a stronger, more united, safer and more sustainable Europe,” the foreign minister said.
