EU integration, France confirms support for enlargement

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, met France’s Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, René Troccaz, during his stay in Przno, Montenegro.

The conversation focused on Albania’s accession process to the European Union, developments in the Western Balkans, as well as the strategic importance of strengthening regional cooperation, connectivity and security.

In a post on the social network X, Hoxha writes that Albania and France have built an excellent partnership, supported by shared European values, singling out France’s support for the country’s European perspective.

“France’s continuous support for Albania’s European path, as well as its active commitment to a credible and merit-based enlargement process, are of strategic importance not only for Albania, but also for the future of the Western Balkans and of Europe as a whole.

We remain determined to work closely with France to strengthen the region’s European perspective, to consolidate stability and security, and to bring the Western Balkans decisively and irreversibly closer to the European Union,” Hoxha stresses.
