Ersekë, Rinalt Kasko presents his first book of poetry, “Qyteti prej letre” (The Paper City)
Erseka turned into a meeting point of art and poetry, where Rinalt Kasko presented his first book, “Qyteti prej letre” (The Paper City). More than 1,000 poems written over the years, but only about 200 of them have been selected to enter the pages of this book. Verses that, as the author himself says, are pieces of the soul, stories heard and emotions lived.
At the promotion held in Kolonjë, well-known names of Albanian art were present, among them Alfred Trebicka, Luiza Xhuvani, Xhevahir Zeneli, as well as other artists and personalities.
“It is my first book of poetry. I have been dealing with it for years. They are pieces of my soul, of the stories I have heard, a paper city where I have written my verses. It is a book that has all kinds of poetry, folk, love, anger, joy, sadness, satisfaction, a little of everything,” said Rinalt Kasko, poet.
For the poet Eris Rusi, the book’s title carries several meanings, while Kasko’s poems create a direct communication with the reader.
“It has a title that unfolds a triple meaning. Paper is fragile. It is existence itself. It is planning, dreams, desires, emotions, that seeks to connect with the world. The third element, the packaging, that seeks to be conveyed to the people you love. It has been made for real readers. People find themselves in his poems,” Eris Rusi, poet, said.
The well-known singer Selami Kolonja also values Kasko’s creativity, describing him as a special voice in Albanian poetry.
“It is a surprise of these last 10 years. Through the poems, the poetic soul, they come out of the soul. Rinalt will be among the poets who will take a place in Albania and not only. I see Lasgush, Yesenin, Pushkin, he does not copy, he is a name of his own,” said Selami Kolonja, singer.
Among verses of love, joy, sadness and revolt, “Qyteti prej letre” is the poetic account of an author who for years has written in silence and who now chooses to share with the reader a part of his world. In Ersekë, Rinalt Kasko’s poetry thus took the form of a book, but also of a meeting between the author, art and the public.
